Quebec Experience Class (PEQ)
The Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) allows Quebec students and temporary foreign workers who hold a skilled job in Quebec to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).
QUEBEC EXPERIENCE CLASS FOR STUDENTS:
Candidates wishing to apply under the graduate stream of the PEQ must respect several requirements. They must have a legal status in Quebec if the application is submitted from within Quebec. They must intend to establish themselves in Quebec in order to work, and must have resided in Quebec during at least half of the duration of their studies.
Eligibility Requirements:
Conformed to condition as a student in Quebec
Obtained a recognized diploma from Quebec within the last 36 months period: Bachelor/Masters/PHD/DEC DEP and ASP (1800 hours of training)
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) involving 1,800 study hours;
DEP and an ASP (AVS – Attestation of Vocational Specialization) totaling 1,800 hours;
DEC – Diploma of College Studies, technical training;
Applicants must demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of French and meet financial requirements. Must have a study program completed in French or 3 years of secondary/post-secondary studies in French or completed B2 course in French by MIDI or Passed French Exam.
Not eligible if graduate must return to home country or started a new study program or over 50% of course was completed outside Quebec.
The diploma or degree must be awarded by a university or by a public education institution located in Quebec and recognized by the Quebec government. In addition, the international student must possess an intermediate knowledge of oral French Language.
Students may submit their application for permanent residence from within Quebec 6 months before completing their program of study. The Certificate de Selection du Quebec (CSQ) is issued to the student upon confirmation of successful completion of an approved program of study.
QUEBEC EXPERIENCE CLASS FOR TEMPORARY WORKERS:
Applicants wishing to apply under the skilled temporary foreign worker stream of the PEQ must also intend to establish themselves in Quebec for work, must have resided temporarily in Quebec with the key goal of working, and must have maintained legal status in Quebec throughout their stay.
Eligibility Requirements:
The applicants must have occupied a full-time job at the managerial, professional, or technical level (level 0, A, or B, according to the National Occupational Classification) during at least 12 of the 24 months preceding the submission of their application. During submission time, they must occupy a full-time, level 0, A, or B job and must be in full compliance with the visa conditions of a temporary foreign worker.
Full-time employment constitutes a minimum of 30 hours of paid work per week.
Self-employed work is not accepted under this stream.
The temporary foreign worker must also possess an intermediate knowledge of oral French.
Under the Quebec Experience Class program, there is no Quebec selection interview. Selection decisions are made solely from the information and documentary evidences submitted on file. Once a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) has been issued, medical examination and police clearance certificate is the next requirement.
